As The Lancastrian rain lashed down on the edge of Winter Hill, it also washed away any hopes Bolton Wanderers had of staying in the Championship writes The Bolton Reporter.
Bolton Wanderers, in a performance that was as wet and uninspiring as the weather, went down to a first half goal from West Brom’s Jay Rodriguez who could hardly miss his header from 5 inches. This was compounded late in the second half after more lax defending from Bolton Wanderers allowed West Brom’s own Sam Field to poke it past Ben Alnwick to make it 2-0.
However most Trotters fans will say that the match wasn’t the issue… the real point was making their voices heard regarding the ever escalating Ken Anderson issue.
Anderson tried to make it as difficult as he could for the Bolton Wanderers fans imposing fire regulations and banning any banners containing obscene language. Despite this, the Bolton Wanderers fans protested wilfully and manfully in their thousands pre match- launching a peaceful protest march circulating the ground headed up by club legend (also banned man) John McGinlay.
However what did the protests achieve? Well they certainly let the nation know the situation at the UNIBOWL, even if crooked owner Ken Anderson was out of the country supposedly finding new backers to take the club over… hmmmm yeah right Ken.
Keith Andrews wears a wig…. pass it on
